Forgive me, but it really does tickle me to refer to myself in third person… but only in writing. This post is a little late in coming, but I assure you I definitely plan to attend SXSW Interactive this year. This will be my third time attending the conference so it’s all starting to feel a bit familiar, but I’m excited to see old friends and new (as well as some old friends I have yet to meet face-to-face.)
I promise to deliver at least one live blog post from the conference here and another over on A Healthier Michigan, (the heart of our growing social media presence at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan) that will focus on the people and companies from Michigan in attendance at the show and what they hope to get out of being there. If you’re there on behalf of a Michigan-based company and want to be included in that post, let me know and we will set up time for an interview. Chevy is sending two teams from Detroit in its SXSW road trip competition — it’s a little difficult for me to cheer for one over the other since I know and love members of both teams. Is it okay if I wish they would tie?
Sunday is the Big Day
You’ll definitely be able to catch up with me Sunday when I co-host a Core Conversation about social media in regulated industries with Shwen Gwee, a person whose name has become synonymous with social media and pharma. After that, I will join the #Allhat crew at Guero’s for my third year in a row before heading over to the first-ever LIVE edition of #Blogchat where I will team up with Dell’s Richard Binhammer to discuss lessons corporate bloggers can learn from personal bloggers (and vice versa I’m sure!). #Blogchat will take place at the Social Media Clubhouse, which has several floors this year. If you get bored with Richard and I, you’ll be able to wander up (or down) a flight to chat with C.C. Chapman and Ann Handley (aka @marketingprofs) — trust me, #Blogchat creator Mack Collier thought of everything!
See You There?
One thing I’ve learned over the past three years is that it’s better to schedule meetings than leave it up to chance. I’m over-scheduling myself this year to make sure I make the most of this conference. If you want to make sure we meet, please shoot me an email at shannonpaul5 at gmail.com and let’s make it happen. Direct messages on Twitter during an event don’t work so well when you’re running around from place to place.

Shannon I am absolutely thrilled that you can join us to co-host the first LIVE #Blogchat on Sunday, and am happy I will get to see you at #AllHat3 as well.
But I am greedy, what about Saturday? Are you just in town for Sunday? See you soon! ;)

I’ll be there for the duration! I’m lining up meetings and busy, busy, busy. We should make sure to connect sometime in addition to #Blogchat, of course :)
