When we build sites we always recommend a blog too as a component to any site. It is important for customers to understand that Google does appreciate new, fresh content on a regular basis and that social bookmarking components do build links, which help rankings. If Coke changes the formula they tell you and we voted to not like it. If you start ghost blogging then just tell me - I will tell you whether it is an issue or not - but not telling me - bad idea.
